New to Firefox question

I am new to Firefox. Downloaded FF4. It is excellent except for I thing, I download files from rapidshare, etc, and Firefox is missing the "save target as" of IE. I tried "save link as", but it does not work correctly - at least not the same as IE. Is there an add-on or tweek to give firefox the "save target as"? or make "save link as" work the same as "save target as"?

Thank-you.

If you find Firefox Options, (The Firefox button top left, then Options > Options), then in the General tab is the setting where Downloads are saved to.

Any right click > Save Link as, should then save the download to that location. You can change that location if you wish. For example I download all my files to the Desktop.

Thaks for the response. However they do not act the same. Firefox's save link as"saves the actual link, not the file itself, as IE's "save target as" did.

I've just tried a download in Firefox. I went to http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?tag=rb_content;main and downloaded Malwarebytes Anti-malware.

When I clicked on the Download Now link a new window opened and then a pop-up appeared asking me if I wanted to save this file. When I clicked Save File, it saved it to my Desktop.

Does that not work for you?

In what other way does this fail? Most 'links' can only be saved as a "Save Link As", because they are links. Can you provide me with an example where this fails?

Mark
