DSLR Warranty

Hi,
Just bought a Nikon d7000 from future shop. they offer an extended warranty for all their electronics. I'm wondering if it is wise to pay the extra $240 for a 4 year extended warranty. or if there is no point buying a warranty. on the box it self it says 2 year warranty from nikon. on the lens box it says 5 years.
any advice would be appreciated.
thanks

Reply 1 : DSLR Warranty

This subject has come up several times and it has always resulted in a 50/50 split.

I would ask lots of questions about who honors this warranty.
If you are buying the camera from somewhere in Brooklyn - forget the warranty.
Bad track record for warranties from Brooklyn.
If the warranty covers damage from dropping the camera it could be a good deal if you tend to drop things. If it does not - I don't see where it has much value for that amount of money.
